For Immigrants:
Big changes are coming for Canada’s immigration program. Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney spoke in Montreal last month and outlined some key changes we will see this
year .....
♦
Previously under the points system, skilled trade workers found it difficult to meet the 67 point cutoff. The proposed reformation means a separate points system for trades workers, and great news for potential immigrants. Canada is currently experiencing a shortage of trades’ people, especially in BC, and this means an open door of opportunity.
♦ The Economic Action Plan 2012 will target potential investors, meaning growth for the Canadian economy. Improvements to the existing investment program will be revealed later this year. The Government of Canada is committed to building a fast and flexible immigration system, focused on attracting talented workers from all over the globe.
